Snow Day

We had a blizzard here yesterday. After weeks of really nice weather, we got hit with a foot or so of snow, and some low visibility, snarled traffic and the like.  In fact, traffic was so bad that they let us go home early.  If we missed your phone call, we apologize!

Here’s a shot from my commute to work:

Just kidding. This is actually from a group of guys trying to drive around the world.  They’re a little stuck in Siberia right now. You can read about them here.  Nice Jeeps!

This, though, is completely true: A shot from our parking lot yesterday.  That’s Cici, who works in our accounting department working her way to her 1997 TJ.  She had no trouble getting home.

These images are from the “Slightly Off  Roaders” Club. They’ve got some fun images at their site.

This CJ has a nice Supertop on it. Well, it might be a nice Supertop. It’s actually kind of hard to tell. But we make some Cleaner for that!

Doug Smith from Painesville Ohio wrote in to show us how he customized his Bestop Tire Cover.  Those dunes might look familiar if you think about the Jeep Sahara logo.

Red Neck Jeep - Just Wait For it…

The write-up on this Jeep is the most popular thing we’ve done so far,  so I apologize for not getting back to it.  As so often happens, work has gotten in the way of fun projects. George is out of the country, and hasn’t been able to tell us much about the underside of this Jeep. Dana 60’s,  Hydraulic Steering, Gears with big numbers and low, low speeds. We’ll get all the dirt on the dirty side of his Jeep project posted for you as soon as possible.  Word is that George still plans to drive this out to Moab for Jeep Week!

Meanwhile, a few photos to tide you over.

Do you think George’s neighbors have any questions about what he does on the weekends?

Daydreamin’ on a Friday Afternoon

I was poking around on Ebay, and found this:

Shiny!

Shiny!

Now that’s a nice CJ.

It’s for sale by a group called Saint Louis Car Museum.

It was completely restored by Butch Wyrich, who operates a place called Premium Jeep.

It’s exactly the way I like CJ-5’s - almost completely stock. Just a bit of lift, and slightly bigger tires.

Of course, when you’re doing a complete restoration of a classic, you need a nice new top and doors.

Umm. wonder what they went with?

Supertop. Of course.

Check out the photos. And, stop by their EBay auction. This one’s more than a bit out of my price range, but someone’s going to enjoy it.  Wonder if my boss thinks we need a really nice CJ for photoshoots?
