Aerial View of My Favorite Trail

There’s an interconnected bunch of trails way up at the top of Colorado that are just one of the best places to take a Jeep. I anxiously wait each summer for enough snow to melt so I can get to the top. I’m certainly not alone in this game of waiting. Over at Colorado4×4.org, it’s always one of the biggest forum topics this time of year.

So user Norco went up there to the start of the trail, and took some incredible footage of this trail using his remote controlled airplane and video camera. It’s still too early, as you can see at about the one minute mark.

If you have ever wondered what the trail running in Colorado is all about, this fantastic footage is worth five minutes of your time. Come on out this summer and enjoy our forets and trails. But it looks like you need to wait about two more weeks. Which is really hard to do.

TruckFest Atlanta is under way

TruckFest’s are sponsored by 4 Wheel Parts, and are held all over the country. This weekend, it’s Atlanta. It’s free, it’s open to the public, there are some really interesting vehicles there, and all the vendors offer great deals. Stop by. Say hello to Brad, our regional sales manager, who sent this photo of the booth this  morning.

Badlands Off Road Park, Indiana

“MotoKeen” sends us these photos of the Badlands Off Road Park in Attica, Indiana. He says he heads up there every time his jeep starts feeling a bit too clean. Thanks for sharing.

Featured Dealer on Bestop.com

Local authorized dealers get the chance to be a “Featured dealer” over on Bestop.com’s Where To Buy section.  If you’re an authorized dealer and you want this, it’s the best type of marketing: free.  Let us know.

Here’s the one we posted today. JR’s Truck Accessories. Six locations in Georgia.

New video: Installation Help this time

We just finished a new video on Replace-A-Top Installations. We did this video for product support. In other words, for people who had already purchased the product, instead of the normal “let’s try to get you to buy this!” Let us know how we did.

PowerBoard Review at Off-Road.com

Check out Off-Road.com for a review of the PowerBoard. They said:

Install of the Bestop PowerBoard was a snap. With a couple of pop rivets and bolts to the underside of the trucks body, the PowerBoards were securely mounted in less than two hours. Most of the install time was dedicated to the wiring harness, which is actually quite simple. The whole system is pre-wired, making this a plug-and-play affair. The control box was mounted at the fire wall and four wires run to the PowerBoards themselves.

It’s a two page write-up, so they said more than that. Hit the link to go read the rest.

Jeep Beach!

The Jeeps take over Daytona Beach. Brad, our East Coast Sales Manager, sent me a bunch of photos from Jeep Beach to share with everyone.

Jeep Beach is held at Daytona Beach, and is sponsored by the Mid-Florida Jeep Club. There’s a show, an obstacle course, a vendor row and all sorts of activities. But the big event is the Sunday Parade on the Beach.

Brad is there with Jeeper’s Den, a nice Jeep shop in Orlando. He flew in, and tells me he’s never been more disappointed to be somewhere with just a sad little rental car.

Lock Box

We’re calling this the “Locking Under Seat Storage Box for 2007-2011 JK Wrangler.”

That’s a long name, to be sure. So call it anything you like. I call it convienent.  Having this lock box right under your seat is probably the most logical place. You can lock things up without needing to get out of the Jeep, like you do for trunk storage. And not only is it locked up securely, but the whole box is hard to see. It’s a great place to conceal things.

It’s also really rugged, heavy duty steel. The part number is 42640-01.  The first shipment evidently sold out immediately, but we’ve got more arriving now.

Spring Fever

Joe writes in to tell us that he has been saving up for a new top, since his is now officially thrashed. But in the meantime, he decided to go with the Trail Cover. And this morning, he was extremely glad he made the purchase. Joe’s from Vermont, and Mother Nature has decided to remind them that Spring is not really underway just yet. This is what greeted him in his driveway:

Friday Cell-Camera Randomness

Just a few images to share from my cell phone camera.

This is my co-worker Crystal’s Jeep. It takes her a bit of a hop to get in.

This is my Jeep in the parking lot today. It’s snowing in Broomfield, and there’s a lot of snow in the mountains. It’ll be awhile before we can hit the upper trails!

This is a shot of the call center at one of our distributors. Catalogs for everything!

Gemini Off Road. A great little place outside Vancouver, BC. The owners can find anything you need. Maybe not right away, but they’ve got it there somewhere!

Our new JK. I took it to the shop to get a long arm lift kit, 35″ tires, lockers and gears. And it’s got over 1,00 miles on it already. Watch for this one on the trails.
