About Bestop

As a consumer, can I buy directly from the Bestop factory or from Bestop.com?

Bestop does not sell direct from the factory or from Bestop.com. Does Bestop manufacture the factory original (OEM) soft tops for Jeep® Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited?

Yes. Bestop has been the factory original supplier to DaimlerChrysler for Jeep® soft tops since 1986. Bestop has also been the factory supplier of soft tops and accessories for Suzuki, Isuzu, GM, Toyota and many other small SUVs. Additionally, we've also been serving the Toyota truck market and Toyota accessories market for Land Cruiser for over 30 years. At Bestop, we proudly utilize the finest materials and adhere to the factory original specifications for fit, function, style and craftsmanship – so you know you’re getting the best there is.

How long has Bestop been in business?

Bestop has been in business for over 50 years. Starting out as a small trim shop making canvas tops for WWII Jeeps in Boulder, Colorado, we have gradually expanded our product lines and operation over the years to be your full service Jeep® top and Jeep® accessories provider.

What is the warranty on my Bestop product?

Bestop offers a one-year or two-year Limited Warranty on its products. Please reference your installation instructions, contact your place of purchase, visit our Limited Warranty page, call toll-free in the U.S.A. and Canada at 1-800-845-3567 (International Customers please call U.S.A. 303-465-1755) or email Bestop Customer Service for more information.

For product still within its warranty period, please call your place of purchase regarding any warrantable issues. For product beyond the set warranty pariod, contact Bestop for further instructions.

2-Piece Soft Doors

My 2-Piece Soft Doors are not fitting in the door opening properly, what should I do to fix this?

It is common that your 2-Piece Soft Doors may take a bit of adjustment to fit properly. With the door open, place your hands on the top of the soft door and pull downward towards the vehicle. Do not worry about breaking the doors as Bestop doors are produced using heavy-duty tubular steel. Adjust as needed. Also, Bestop offers adjustments on the pivot pins to assist with a better overall fit.

Door Kits

Sometimes at highway speeds my soft upper doors pull away from my soft top allowing wind into the vehicle, what can I do to stop this?

It is common that your Soft Upper Doors may need to be bent inwards in order to get a better sealing surface with the soft top. With the door open, place your hands on the top of the soft door and pull downward towards the vehicle. Do not worry about breaking the doors as Bestop doors are produced using heavy-duty tubular steel. Adjust as needed. Also, Bestop includes round collars with our door kits. Using these collars around the door pins will help with height adjustment. For 2-Piece Soft Doors, Bestop offers adjustments on the pivot pins to assist with a better overall fit.

Upper Door Sliders

Can I purchase replacement parts for my Upper Door Sliders?

Unfortunately, the Upper Door Sliders come in a cassette and can only be sold as individual finished doors. If these cassettes are disassembled, it is very unlikely they could be reassembled correctly without the appropriate tools; therefore, we are unable to sell replacement parts for them (i.e. glass, latches, weather stripping).

Windows

One of my windows has a small dent or impression in the vinyl - how do I get it out?

We recommend that the window be exposed to direct sunlight for a period of 3 days. Heat and direct sunlight make the vinyl more pliable and in many cases will remove or reduce minor dents and small scratches from the vinyl window.

Bestop® Cleaner, Bestop® Protectant and Bestop® Vinyl Window Cleaner are exclusively developed for Bestop to provide a total cleaning system for all Bestop Soft Tops and most accessories. Hardtops

Are Bestop® Cleaner and Bestop® Protectant safe to use on my Bestop Hardtop?

Yes. Bestop® Cleaner and Bestop® Protectant are safe to use on the Bestop Hardtop exterior surface. This cleaning system is also safe to use on other Bestop® molded accessories including the Fender Flares, Entry Steps and Extendatrunk™. My Hardtop is leaking around the seals, what can I do to fix the leaking?

There are a variety of reasons that may cause a hardtop leaking issue. Sometimes road vibration has shifted the hardtop, sometimes the hardtop was not installed properly, and sometimes it is a manufacturing issue. Remember, every Jeep® is unique, and what your Jeep® experiences on the road may not be experienced by your buddy's Jeep®.

Sometimes a hardtop must be shimmed or adjusted in order to provide a better fit. First, try adjusting the hardtop to make sure the hardtop is correctly placed on the vehicle. Adjust the top both front-to-back and side-to-side. For 07 to current Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited (JK) hardtops, make sure to use the correct washers (spacers) on the front knobs to ensure a tight seal. These washers (spacers) are included in the hardtop parts kit.

Do not return the product! Call the place you purchased your accessory from, and your missing part will be sent to you.

Flexatrunk™

Does the Flexatrunk™ fit with the factory subwoofer?

Yes. Made for the 2007 to current Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited, the Flexatrunk™ fits with or without factory subwoofer. There is a cutout that can be removed to fit with factory subwoofer.

Instatrunk™

Does the Instatrunk™ fit with the factory subwoofer?

Yes. For the 2007 to current Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited Instatrunk™, we offer a version to fit with the factory subwoofer and another that fits without the factory subwoofer.

How do I know if I have Jeep® factory original (OEM) hardware, Bestop hardware or some other manufacturer's hardware?

Factory Original Hardware

Above shows the factory original (OEM) hardware configurations for 1986-1995 Wrangler (YJ) and 1997-2006 Wrangler (TJ) models. Please note that 1996 is not a Wrangler model year. If you believe you have a 1996 Wrangler and the headlights are square, then it is a 1995 model year Wrangler (YJ). If the headlights are round, then it is a 1997 model year Wrangler (TJ).

Bestop Soft Tops

If I'm missing a part from my new Bestop soft top kit, what do I do?

Do not return the product! Call the place you purchased your Bestop soft top from, and your missing part will be sent to you.

Does Bestop offer soft top colors that will match my original soft top fabric?

Bestop offers a wide variety of fabric colors and is the factory supplier to DaimlerChrysler Jeep®; therefore, our fabrics offer factory original (OEM) quality and a perfect color-match to factory original fabrics. Bestop also offers many unique fabrics. Visit our Fabric Swatches page to view the variety of colors and fabric types available.

Can I get replacement parts for my Bestop soft top?

Yes. A majority of parts are available and can be purchased directly from Bestop or our distributors. What is the life expectancy of a soft top?

The life of a soft top varies depending upon a variety of factors including usage, whether it's garaged, regular cleaning, regular maintenance, etc. In most cases; however, a soft top will last from 3 to 5 years.

How long does it take to install a fabric soft top, if I have never installed one before?

At optimum temperature (above 72° F)*, following are the times it takes the average person:

Replace-a-top™ - up to 1.5 hours
Supertop® - up to 3 hours
Sunrider® - up to 3 hours
Tigertop™ - up to 3 hours
Halftop™ - up to 2 hours

*Note: Below 72° F, the fabric may contract an inch or more, making it more difficult to fit to the vehicle.

Can I custom order a soft top for my vehicle or order one in a special color?

Unfortunately, as much as we'd like to, Bestop does not do custom work orders. Because there are so many different vehicle styles and fabrics, Bestop would be unable to accommodate your request in a timely or cost effective manner.

Where do I measure my truck bed in order to determine which BestRail™ Channels fit my vehicle?

When measuring for BestRail™ Channels, the length of your truck bed will determine which BestRail™ Channels you need. To properly measure the length, make sure to measure from the inside of the front of the bed to the inside of the tailgate.
