trek step

Thank you for your product. I installed as shown... The step, 75300-15 for a 2013 Silverado, deploys level, but I don't understand why the step is is at a angle when up position ? Is this part of the rotation. I didn't find a picture of the step in the stow position. I like the way it deploys and gives you that instant step...Great !!
