Installation Suggestion

I received my JK Sunrider Top yesterday and installed it today. I found the instructions to be accurate and easy to follow. The installation took several hours due to the length of the two M6X20 Flanged Screws used to connect to the door rails. After many attempts I purchased a couple of longer X25 and X30 M6 and everything went in easily. It would be very helpful if you could include longer screws in the future.

Just installed and seems great except..

I had been looking at the Sunrider for a while for my 2013 JK and finally took the leap. I love having my softtop on because of the sunrider portion that lets me flip it back in nice weather and it only take seconds to do. I travel a lot so I prefer to have the hardtop on for security reasons, but I am not a fan of the freedom panels. I have a Rockhard Sports cage in my Jeep and noticed that when I was installing the door rails, they didnt fit. The roll cage header bar interferes. I had to cut some of the top door rail so it would fit. I have read reviews that people have problems with leaking so I made sure that the rear gasket was pushed into the top channel. Overall the instructions where straight forward and the install was simple. Took me about 2.5 hours since I had to modify the rails.

Nice summer replacement

I bought this sunrider for hardtop and like it a lot. Installation was easy, but also not easy. Took me a while to install even though it should of taken way less time. Only because i installed it, but the latches wouldn't reack; perhaps because the material was super tight. I had to re-do it all again. After installation I took it to the carwash and no leaks. Yay Pros: i love that it's super easy and fast to open and close. Instead of taking 15 minutes to take off freedom tops, it now takes 15 seconds. No getting cought in rain. No need for extra person to help you. No need to take off bulky hardtop. You personally feel more the Jeep experience. Youtube instalation video. Easy to store. Cons: expensive. More noisy, rubber trim sticks out, not insulated for heat/cold. Harder to clean sticky bug goo. Material is ok; doesn't match hardtop. Suggestions: what if it came with a plastic smoked sunroof window to see the stars? Hmmm.

This Top Is Fabulous

This is a fantastic top. It's so much bigger than a sunroof. It's really like having a convertible. Even with the windows up there is no annoying wind buffeting. It is so easy to put the top up and down. I don't like the full soft top that came with my new 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Chief Edition. It's a pain to put anything in the rear of the vehicle with the soft top mounted and I really don't like fussing and unzipping windows. When I saw the ad for the Sunrider for Hardtop it was just what I was looking for. I then read the reviews and frankly many of them were mixed, particularly with respect to installation and water leaks. Let me say unequivocally right now-it does not leak and if you have a helper the installation will go easily and quickly. Installation is key and if you take your time and install it correctly it will not leak. Some people complained about the screws being too short-they are not; however it will help quite a bit if the second person squeezes the driver and passenger mounts to the roll cage while the other gets the screws to bite. Most importantly lay the whole top assembly so the gasket overlaps the roof. Many people are tucking the gasket into the ridge in the roof and that is your leak problem. It has poured for two days since I installed it and not a single drop!! This is a high quality well engineered top that requires attention to the installation instructions. Put it on right and you will be very happy with this product. Highly recommended!!
