HighRock 4x4™ Rear Bumper with Integrated Tire Carrier - Jeep 1997-2006 Wrangler

If you're running big-dog tires on your Wrangler, the factory tire carrier on the tailgate will not be up to the job. Even 33" tires can stress out that factory carrier. This rear bumper/tire carrier combo is the solution.  Built to take up to 40" tires, it takes all the load off the tailgate and puts it on the bumper via our Mega-Duty Spindle design.

  • Tailgate and tire carrier swing out as a single unit, with one-hand operation.
  • 3/16” laser cut steel with E-coat and wrinkle finish powder-coat.
  • Tire Carrier arm mounts through bumper on Mega-Duty spindle with MIG welded steel bracket with Heim joints at tailgate
  • Includes a Class 2.5 receiver hitch that accepts many popular 2" hitch mount accessories
  • No-drill application with bolt-on convenience to factory mounting points.
  • Brake light relocation bracket included.
  • Hi-Lift Jack and fire extinguisher mounting points
  • Class 2.5 2” receiver hitch (Warning: Do not exceed vehicle manufacturer’s recommended towing capacity.)
  • D-Ring mounting bosses welded both front and back for tremendous strength (D-Rings sold separately)
  • Optional Approach/Departure Roller increases ability to get over the toughest obstacles.
  • Can accommodate Jeeps with up to 1" body lifts

Just what I was looking for...

I've had this tire carrier on the back of my Jeep for a couple years now and still love it. I wanted a clean solution for mounting over-sized tires on the back of my TJ but didn't want to lose that stock look. I also love that there isn't a separate latching system for the tire. I use the tailgate release on my Jeep and the tire just moves with the tailgate all at once. I do wish there was a catching system to hold the door and tire all the way open for times when parked off-camber. It can be an annoyance to hold the door open while loading things into the back of the Jeep. I also ended up replacing the linkage between the door/tire carrier with an ARB linkage which is more stout. I broke the weaker one after a couple of times when my tailgate and tire swung open to their limit and put undue stress on the part.
