Bestop Premium Accessories Group Supports Trail Hero 2022

Bestop Premium Accessories Group Supports Trail Hero 2022 in Hurricane, Utah

The BPAG family of brands is exceptionally proud to support Trail Hero – one of the largest and most exciting four-wheel drive events on the planet. With five days of trail rides, off-road skills challenges, and family-oriented fun, Trail Hero shines a bright light on everything southern Utah has to offer for the 4×4 enthusiast. Now in its seventh year, the Off-Road Motorsports Hall Of Fame ranks Trail Hero as one of its “Top Three Off Road Events”. From the charity golf tournament, to the Supercrawl World Championships, and the rocking music festival, Trail Hero has become a must-attend for off-road explorers of all stripes.

However, Trail Hero has a bigger mission. The event is first and foremost a vehicle for supporting motorized access opportunities for people with special needs and Veterans. The Trail Hero event opens the door for those less fortunate to experience the joys and rewards of off-road exploration and backcountry travel. Since its inception, the event has played host to over 1000 people with special needs and over 4000 veterans. And, Trail Hero is advocating across the board for open access to roads and trails on our public lands.

Having the right equipment with you is critical. We carry a full assortment of tools including sockets and ratchets, wrenches, screwdrivers, vise grips, and files. Still, our hammer and our multimeter are probably the tools that seem to get used the most on the trail. Fluids ranging from engine oil to gear oil to brake fluid are handy to have along. If we have experienced a failure in the past, whether it is a fan belt or a crank position sensor, we carry a spare of that part. We also have bailing wire, duct tape, ratchet straps, electrical tape, fuses, and epoxy with us. These items are relatively light and take up minimal space. We don’t carry spare axle shafts or third members, although we know people who do. There has to be an upper limit to how much room you have and how much extra weight you want to add to your vehicle.

For all these reasons, BPAG brands are proud to partner with Trail Hero as a main sponsor. This October five Bestop employees and more than a dozen others from our sister brands attended; representatives from PRP, Baja Designs, Tuffy, and sPod were all there to support Trail Hero’s mission. We sponsored the Trail Hero Music Fest, and the Trail Hero Crew wore Bestop-branded shirts during the event. Over 60 people brought their rigs to the Baja Designs night trail run, and Trail Hero recognized Bestop as a key sponsor at the awards gala. A really cool surprise for us was a custom guitar autographed by the Music Fest bands that Trail Hero presented to Bestop in thanks for our support.

It’s wonderful to receive these recognitions, but Trail Hero’s efforts to open trail access for people with special needs and our Veterans is more than enough reward for us. If you’re interested in becoming a Trail Hero, check out their website for more information.

Heather Storm Off-Road Episode 3: Bronco Off-Roadeo

Everyone who orders a new 2021 Ford Bronco receives an invitation to attend Bronco Off-Roadeo, a course that teaches Bronco owners the capabilities of their vehicle and gets them excited to explore. There are only a handful of locations throughout the country; for my playground I chose a 360 acre ranch outside Austin to truly put the new Bronco to the test.

Cliffhanger Trail Review with Bestop at EJS 2022

One of our favorite trails in Moab, Cliffhanger is an exciting and challenging trail that is sure to leave an impression on highly experienced drivers. If you are afraid of heights, you may want to consider a different trail as the exposure on the namesake obstacle can be a bit too much for some people. Rated an 8 out of 10 which means it is a very difficult trail and should only be attempted by modified vehicles that have lockers, a winch, and 35″ tires. We took our Gladiator Rubicon out on this trail during Easter Jeep Safari 2022 for its first test of its capability since it was built for SEMA in 2019. Yes, we know that the 20″ wheels are a bit silly for off-road use and we would not recommend them. They made it out surprisingly unscathed but the same cannot be said for our passenger side rocker panel…
