Love My Ascent by Bestop!

"I have had my Ascent for over a year now and couldn’t be happier with my top. The fit is amazing, I’ve never had any issues with leaking, and I love that I can flip the front back for a quick open-air experience when the weather is unpredictable. Installation took about 3 hrs. We watched the video once and then used it as a step-by-step while actually completing the install. I don’t think the instruction booklet would have been enough without the video. As others have said, lay out your pieces in the sun to help stretch. The initial install is super tight and fits like a glove. Getting the back window to zip the first time took some effort even after laying everything out in the sun. Get one side started but don’t zip more than an inch or two until the other side is started and you’ll need help stretching it! No issues with leaking, even after removing and reinstalling this year. I can take through the car wash (touchless only) and have been in some hairy storms and still fits like a glove and no leaks. The ride is relatively quiet as well. I have a hard top I run through the winter and the noise level is only slightly different. The sides and back window can be removed in a matter of a couple minutes and I love being able to flip the front open if I just want some sun for the day. If you are on the fence and want an affordable soft top just say yes! I love this top!"

Best Top Ascent SoftTop Install Review

"I ordered my ascent on the 18th and within a week I received it! Very happy about that as I watched that video at least 10 times and was ready to install. Took 2 hours, with a few bumps, no bruises. After finishing I noticed when I put the plastic clips in to the back bow that attached the top, it bunches it up something horrible and makes me think I did something wrong. I took it through the wash today and water did come through where the back windows meet the bunched up corners. That's my only issue other than that I am absolutely pleased with the look apart from my hard top. Any help or tips as to redoing these steps and fixing my error would help before I start to disassemble again. Thank you and sorry about that."

Best Top Ascent

"My bad for not reading the full description of this item but here's my personal review (Mostly filled with self disappointment): Overall quality is great, look is fantastic, ease of use but need a bit of muscle to latch the top back down (I struggle here). I was wicked bummed to find that the soft top only folds back over the front and passenger seats - basically an $800 bimini cover (plus rear cargo windows). For what I wanted, it was a huge waste of money. . . And because I am not much of a pro at assembling (it took me HOURS) - So, super bummed, but my own fault."

"The top is just as advertised. Easy to install and looks great. Shipping internationally however leaves something to be desired! Failing to attach the proper paperwork caused the shipment to be held in customs for 5 weeks. No one ever followed up except when I called to find out what was going on. Otherwise, no issues. The top is great so far"

Installation wasn't fun

"Finally got the good weather here to install this top after purchasing last year. And while I do like how it works on my jeep, it was not fun or easy to install. I had plastic holes get stripped out almost immediately and had to get bolts to replace the long screws that went into the plastic door frames. And screwing the tiny sheet metal screws through the fabric into one of the bows was very challenging, like the holes should have been just a shade larger so they wouldn't strip out. And, one of the loops at the back end of the top just pulled right out of the fabric when I was trying to get the plastic guides into the metal lip at the back of my jeep. Definitely was not as easy as the video made it appear, and I watched a lot to make sure I was doing things right. 3 and a half stars due to install issues."

First topper since purchase

"I purchased. 2015 JEEP JKS; with a pretty tired fastback. I shopped around trying to find this tops OEM however everything was so faded and wore off I couldn't make heads or tails. So I shopped Bestop; purchased the Ascent top. It was fairly easy to install with instructions from the their YouTube channel. My rife has not been this quiet since my purchase of the vehicle.
